Lake MI Beach – Theme Park Fun!

Last weekend, the kids got their first theme park experience at Michigan Adventures.  Well, maybe not so much Giuliana, but Dominic sure did take advantage.  It was tons of fun and we’ll be going back again one day.  In the meantime, here are some of the highlights I captured.  The logger ride shot was taken a few hundered feet away with a medium telephoto.  So the picture is cropped BIG Time, but wanted to at least show the expression on his face!  Priceless

A Small Piece Of Lake Michigan

When in Muskegon last week, we had a chance to get to Lake Michigan, check out a lighthouse and even a nice sunset.  I was fascinated by these huge boulders going out to the lighthouse. Lots of texture and made a great focal point.

Dominic 3 & Giuliana 6 Months

Well, we’ve finally gotten around to taking Dominic’s 3 pictures and Giuliana’s 6 month pictures.  We spanned these over two days to get a variety of different scenes and lighting conditions. I think we’re lucky to have pulled off what we did given that Dominic doesn’t like to smile and pose for the camera. Giuliana likes to look at the ground/grass herself rather than looking up 😉  They did well though and we’re happy with the results.

On a more technical note, It was a nice challenge for me because I was going for slow shutter to get the fountain/sprinkler mist effect (you see below), while still having to freeze my subject without blur.  I do love my softbox.  It’s a different style, and I’m liking it!
